Sometimes life gets in the way…

Standard

Katie 3I’m feeling a little blue because I haven’t painted in about two months. I really, really want to paint. I’m longing to paint. I’m dreaming of painting. I just can’t get to it. It’s been a year of  “fixing up” around here. First the multi-level decks had to be redone so that someone on the top deck would not end up on the bottom deck without using the stairs. Yikes! Then the pool had problems and had to be drained and gutted. Once you do that, you might as well do the patio, plumbing and pool equipment and be done with it. Yow! At this point, I’m just glad my paints are paid for! The expense, the noise, the men looking in the windows. I long for a day when I don’t have to jump out of bed and right into my clothes. And, yes, I do feel a bit guilty for complaining about these things since having a house with multi-level decks and a pool, or simply having a house at all, is a blessing not to be taken for granted.

Alas, the day has come and all the workmen are finally out of my life. There is always something else needing to be done, but I really must make time for painting because that’s what makes me a nicer person….less cranky, if you know what I mean. Now, if I could just get someone else to do the cooking, the cleaning, the laundry, the banking, the grocery shopping……

  1. Well, I offered to come live with you and I could do all of those things…but, you said NO!! (…mean big sister….sniff…)

  2. blue! And yet you are the almost owner of a 17 lb Anvil, what more could a girl want. I do understand about wanting time and space to get to what is making your heart sing, at the moment. And I need a really good marinade for grilled veggies now that you mention cooking. hope to visit soon, lv

  3. Exactly. I have the same problem and it’s family. Kids, husband, parents…I love them all dearly but every day it’s somebody. It’s all good but really what I long to do is create. But I can’t do that when someone is talking to me. And then there is the housework. Enjoy your new and improved home and the lovely new privacy…and I hope you have time to paint soon!
