29 Faces, Day 6

Standard

Face 6I opened an altered book that I like to work in and found this page (previously covered with gesso) where I’d cleaned off my brush at some point, with no thought to what would eventually go on it. I could faintly see a small face so penciled it in.  I then decided to make the small face into part of an eye for a larger face. As I started to draw the main face, a vision of ancestors came to mind and so I completed a body on the small face and merged the two. I’ve always felt that our past, who we come from, is a big part of who we are and this page says that. I will probably add more paint at some point, but for now….take a look at “Ancestors”.

  1. This is such a wonderful idea. I like that you told how you created it. It’s so helpful to those of us who are not as experienced in this type of art to see how the creative mind works.
